Farewell.

This is coolbert:

Continuing yet more within context the Ukraine Conflict the Buryat connection.

1. "Buryats and the 'Russian World'

 From hecksinductionhour  |  May 23, 2022.

"As soon as the march 'The Slavic Woman’s Farewell' began to play, my mother would cry. She was eleven years old when the Great Patriotic War began. In the small Buryat village of Khandagai, in the Irkutsk Region, all men between the ages of eighteen and fifty-five went to the front. They were sent off to the strains of  'The Slavic Woman’s Farewell.' Few of them came back alive from the war"

2. "IN RUSSIA’S BURYATIA, SOLDIERS KILLED IN UKRAINE ARE BURIED DAILY. HAS THIS CHANGED HOW LOCALS FEEL ABOUT THE WAR?"

MAY 18, 2022 NATYLIESB | Elena Trifonova.

"This article was published by a local media outlet in the Buryatia region of Russia. It was translated into English by Meduza. – Natylie"

"As Russia’s military casualties in Ukraine continue to mount, Buryatia has emerged as the country’s second-hardest hit region in terms of losses. The only place losing more men is Dagestan. Nevertheless, the speeches at the near daily funerals in Ulan-Ude and other Buryatian cities still resound with support for Russia’s war against 'Nazis' and gratitude for the fallen soldiers not being 'left behind,' but shipped home for burial. At the end of April, the local magazine People of the Baikal published a report about how Buryatia is burying their dead soldiers, and what their loved ones and the regional authorities think about these losses."

3. "Russians withdraw Buryat troops from Sievierodonetsk because they're dropping like flies - Haidai"

From yahoo.com original story at Ukrayinska Pravda by ALYONA MAZURENKO – JUNE 2022.

"Serhii Haidai, the head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration [Ukranian], has reported that the Russians have withdrawn the remaining Buryat troops from Sievierodonetsk because they are significantly weaker than the Ukrainian troops."

Buryat ethnic Russian unit being used as shock troops? Significantly weaker I infer from the close-quarter urban combat of the Sievierodonetsk battle? Casualties large enough where the unit now combat ineffective? Must be and have been withdrawn from the line and replaced by fresh troops.

Buryat distinct combat unit suffering excessive losses will not go over with among the Buryat citizenry of Russia. Losses will be seen as callous disregard for Buryat life, troops used as the proverbial cannon fodder? Resentment and anger toward the war of Putin inevitable.
