This is coolbert:
Beyond merely military manpower numbers consider also the wartime equipment readiness of several NATO members, Germany, Austria, Great Britain.
Reduction in force size over a thirty year period as acknowledged in a very recent previous blog entry a concern.
Military troop size alone [includes all services combined, army, navy, air force] a cause for apprehension yes, but the bang stuff and the items to deliver the bang stuff lacking as well or in an appalling state of unsatisfactory condition or even totally lacking!!
See all previous blog entries [many with further embedded links] as on topic:

I HARDLY THINK ADDITIONALLY OTHER MAJOR MILITARIES OF THE NATO COUNTRIES IN MUCH BETTER SHAPE. FRANCE? ITALY? SPAIN?
What percentage of the mission as envisioned can be completed what percentage of the time? Warplanes might be able to take to the air and during a time of war even engage in aerial combat with a foe but without all the requisite bells-and-whistles felt necessary for success. Assigned tasks accomplished in a manner less than favorable.
GIVEN THE AMOUNT OF STOCKPILED WAR MUNITIONS NOW TRANSFERRED TO THE UKRAINIAN CONSIDER WARTIME READINESS TO BE EVEN LESS NOW?
coolbert.
