"Military
DARPA is building a drone to provide ‘persistent’ surveillance virtually anywhere in the world
DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) is on track to unveil a working prototype of its 'Tern' drone system in 2018 that could eventually give the Navy and Marines persistent surveillance and strike targeting 'virtually anywhere in the world.'”
Drone for ISR mission [Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance] with vertical take off and landing but then level flight as any other conventional warplane.
One-hundred of these drones [operating off of any vessel that has a helipad] can provide FULL WORLD-WIDE coverage of the oceans, ISR mission! So as is alleged.
Devoted readers to the blog not familiar with the Pogo concept of naval aviation are strongly encouraged to read of the post WW2 futile experiment a "good" idea proposal come-a-cropper literally so!
coolbert.
