Bleak.

This is coolbert:

"Everything now depends on what [the West] gives us," . . . "Ukraine has one artillery piece to 10 to 15 Russian artillery pieces. Our Western partners have given us about 10 percent of what they have." - Vadym Skibitsky.

Ukrainians in big trouble? Russian artillery-centric type of warfare a major problem?

1. "Russians Blast Ukrainian Air And Ground Targets With Missile Systems"

From Newsweek and thanks to same.

"Russia's attack on Ukraine has become a war of artillery, and Ukraine is at risk of losing, according to the deputy head of Ukrainian military intelligence." [Skibitsky]

"Vadym Skibitsky told The Guardian in an interview published Friday that Ukraine is now heavily reliant on weapons provided by the West in its counteroffensive against Russia. Russia, meanwhile, currently outranks Ukraine in terms of artillery supplies, according to the official."

UKRAINIAN INDIGENOUS MUNITIONS MANUFACTURING DESTROYED TO A LARGE EXTENTY BY LONG-RANGE MISSILE STRIKES? AMMUNITION DEPOTS TOO STRUCK BY RUSSIAN MISSILES AND DESTROYED. NO MORE INTERNAL CAPACITY TO REPLACE WHAT HAS BEEN LOST!

2. "Ukraine forces outgunned up to 40 to one by Russian forces, intelligence report reveals"

From Kim Sengupta yahoo.com original [?] story "The Independent" June 9, 2022.

"Ukrainian troops are suffering massive losses as they are outgunned 20 to one in artillery and 40 to one in ammunition by Russian forces, according to new intelligence painting a bleak picture of the conflict on the frontline."

"A report by Ukrainian and Western intelligence officials also reveals that the Ukrainians are facing huge difficulties responding to Russians shelling with their artillery restricted to a range of 25 kilometers [about sixteen miles], while the enemy can strike from 12 times that distance [one-hundred ninety miles]"

That latter figure of one-hundred and ninety miles must pertain to precision missile strikes and NOT conventional tube artillery.

Ukrainian OUTGUNNED and OUTRANGED both. And again, apparently no capacity to make up for battlefield losses with internal munitions manufacturing.

Bleak indeed!

Bert says: Please understand the massive artillery advantage of the Russian over the Ukrainian just in numbers includes all tube artillery, rocket artillery and mortars of 120 mm or larger. That is what it was during the Soviet era and presumably is the same now.
