Special purpose the Soviet/Russian designation for the famed, highly touted Spetsnaz!

Mission in the case of Ukraine much less than an illustrious accomplishment of great merit. Rather the opposite. A total disaster? The invincible not so invincible!

"Russia has lost soldiers from the Northern Fleet’s 140th special purpose detachment in Vidyaevo after the group was hit by Ukrainian defenders in the Kharkiv region."

They might be counter-frogmen whose mission would be protection of that large submarine in the background. Or are naval special purpose units. The naval version of the famed Spetsnaz. The friends and comrades of these divers now gone?
