This is coolbert:

When Commander Salamander speaks we all need to listen. Very carefully so in this instance and I am afraid so!

"NATO's Potential Russian Flashpoint May be at Sea"

"Are you aware that NATO nations have already been attacked by Russia?"

DEVOTED READERS TO THE BLOG ARE MORE THAN AWARE OF THIS AND SHOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR BEING WAY AHEAD ON THE CURVE IN THIS REGARD!

"Well, their merchant ships in the Black Sea have."

"If you know your European history, you know the seriousness of this ... yet, it is out of most people's scan.

Read the entire Commander article at the blog of the U.S. Naval Institute.

"NATO’s Black Sea Border"

Further see these maps also courtesy the Commander USNI article.

Sea of Azov. More than half now declared and announced as a "warlike area". Stay out and if you enter you do so at your own risk.

For those readers to the blog either map illiterate or functionally map illiterate here is the Black Sea with the Sea of Azov in the box.

My instantaneous and intuitive response to all this being a NATO flagged vessel will provoke a Russian attack. Purposefully provoke or inadvertently so! Gulf of Tonkin incident from the era of the Second Indo-China War deja vu all over again. Casus belli for NATO to become involved in the Ukrainian Conflict. I sure hope not!

"flashpoint: noun - - A hotspot; a dangerous place of violent political unrest"

Great thanks to the commander for his input.
