Bedsprings

This is coolbert:

I have said this many times and will say again now. Eternal warfare the old ways are the best ways!

As it was in Berlin 1945 so as it is now in Ukraine 2022?

Bedspring armor? Mesh spaced armor. An expedient protection designed to defeat the top-attack mode HEAT round of a NLAW or Javelin anti-tank weapon.

IDEA TO DETONATE THE HEAT WARHEAT [HIGH-EXPLOSIVE ANTI-TANK] BEFORE IT MAKES CONTACT WITH THE WEAK POINTS OF THE TANK ARMOR.

Bedspring armor atop an already destroyed Russian tank, Ukraine 2022.

Russian T-34 tank with bedspring armor WW2 apparently Berlin 1945. That might even be the Reichstag in the background. Bedspring armor protection for the vulnerable portions of the tank, turret and sides both. Top of turrent especially vulnerable to a German panzerfaust anti-tank single-shot pea shooter round fired from a roof or an upper floor of a building with a downward trajectory.

As to the effectiveness of bedspring armor according to a reddit.com forum:

"As tank archives said, it was only useful against only some weaker panzerfaust 30, which wasn't the most used type of panzerfaust by far. Thus, the armor was mostly useless to the great majority of panzerfaust."

I guess it is the idea that counts.
