Recognition.

This is coolbert:

Consider this as major? Devoted readers to the blog decide for themselves.

As reported only yesterday.

First from the DEBKAfile:

1. "Putin considers recognizing Donetsk and Lugansk republic"

 Feb 21, 2022 @ 17:09

"Russian President Vladimir Putin said that his government is considering recognizing the independence of east Ukraine’s two republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, following appeals from their leaders. Putin said this during a televised opening of a security council meeting on Monday. This would mean Moscow’s abdication of the 2015 peace deals that recognized Ukraine’s sovereignty over the territory. Sergei Shoigu, Russia’s defense minister spoke of signs that the Ukrainian government is preparing for a full-scale operation to take the separatist-held areas by force."

Next from the Internet web site "War is Boring":

2. "Pro-Russian separatists urge civilians to flee Ukraine for Russia"

February 18, 2022

"Moscow/ Kiev — Moscow-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine urged civilians to flee across the border to Russia to protect themselves from an attack by Ukrainian government forces, while Russia’s president said such refugees should receive a payout."

Finally from the Russian Inrternet web site " English Russia":

3. "Russia Accepts Refugees From Donbass, Ukraine"

"Russia has already accepted more than 61 thousand citizens of Donbass, Ukraine. Refugees keep coming. 60% of them are children. This is how a school gym in Taganrog looks like today…"

Russian military force massive already has moved into the only-just-yesterday recognized republics. Touted as peacekeeping units their mission to protect the Russian brother [surely an evacuation of civilians a clear indication of make-ready for a full-scale war]. 1939 deja vu all over again? A. Hitler at the time "only" seeking to aid and protect his German ethnics living in foreign lands. The Danzig Corridor and all that? A pretext for war?

coolbert.
