Freikorps.

This is coolbert:

From the Internet web site "Small Wars Journal" the article by Mitch Ruhl.

Militia the Ukraine crisis. Exacerbate an already tense situation.

"Paramilitary Forces in Ukraine: Matches to a Powder Keg"

 Mon, 02/21/2022 - 10:56pm

"In many ways, the militias of this conflict [as from the year 2014] share similarities with the Freikorps of Weimar Germany. Many possess a deeply-entrenched partisan nature—whether ideological or megalomaniacal, questionable loyalty to their government, and draw from a disillusioned veteran-base."

DISILLUSIONED AND VERY ANGRY BASE!!

Militia as listed, paramilitary irregulars but heavily armed, organized, combat experienced and combat ready with an implacable hate directed at the adversary. Divide into the pro-Ukraine and pro-Russian elements.

* Pro-Ukraine.

   *Azov Battalion.

   * Right Sector.

   * Aidar.

* Pro-Russia.

   * Donetsk People's Republic Armed forces.

      * Vostok Brigade.

      * Russian Orthodox Army.

      * Varyag Battalion.

   * Luhansk  People's republic Armed Forces.

       * Cossack Guard.

       * Prizrak Brigade.

Militia both sides in an overt conflict can be expected to be the strong-arm, head-knocking shock troops during an overt conflict. Insurgents and counter-insurgent mission rolled-into-one so to speak.
