QUICKSINK.

This is coolbert:

Chinese take heed!

United States Air Force [USAF] demonstrating an ability to successfully bomb "moving and static" naval targets.

MISSIONS AS NORMALLY THE PURVIEW ONLY [?] OF AMERICAN NAVAL AVIATION NOW AS DEMONSTRATED ALSO WITHIN THE CAPABILITY OF THE USAF.

"F-15E Strike Eagles Tested Modified 2,000-pound GBU-31 JDAMs On Maritime Targets"

Thanks to the Internet web site The Aviationist.

"Three F-15E Strike Eagles from the 85th Test and Evaluation Squadron supported a test as part of the QUICKSINK Joint Capability Technology Demonstration on Aug. 26, 2021."

"Tests with the GBU-31 pave the way for the use of Joint Direct Attack Munitions against 'moving and static maritime targets'”.

At least to my knowledge JDAM only effective with Global Positioning System [GPS] coordinates of the target pre-loaded. Hard to use against a moving target such as a large warship. Such a "handicap' has been overcome?

And YES, USAF F-15E flying missions as an important adjunct to naval combat aviation a big plus. F-15E with mid-air refueling capability can range far-and-wide over the vast expanses of the Pacific Ocean.
