Méfiez-vous du Français en colère! Beware the angry French!
Grand strategy gone amok? Ramifications of the AUKUSA agreement only beginning to become apparent. And not for the best.
Thanks to the Australian SKY News the article by Philip Whiteside.
"Maintaining unity between Western allies will 'require a lot of effort' in light of an unfolding rift between France and members of a new security partnership, Germany's ambassador to the UK has said. French President Emmanuel Macron has so far not commented directly, but on Friday a top French diplomat spoke anonymously of a 'crisis' in relations with the US"
FROM THE FRENCH PERSPECTIVE THE AUKUSA AGREE WILL BE INTERPRETED AS ANOTHER INSTANCE OF THE ANGLOSPHERE IN ACTION. ACTIONS WITH RESULTS THAT ARE INIMICAL TO FRENCH INTERESTS.
"inimical: adjective. Injurious or harmful in effect; adverse. Unfriendly; hostile. Having the disposition or temper of an enemy; unfriendly; unfavorable."
And within context of American failure in Afghan, reliance on the USA as a dependable leader in world affairs less certain. America cannot be trusted is now the perspective.
