Radio Russian.

This is coolbert:

Hot stuff! Be not able!

From CHRIS through Harry more on the shoot-down of the Sukhoi Su-24:

"Jane's and a number of other media outlets have put out articles saying that the Su-24M downed on 23 November wasn't capable of receiving the Turkish voice warnings because the R-862M radio wasn't capable of receiving the emergency VHF/UHF frequencies (121.5 and 243.0 MHz) without an additional modification. This information is reported to have come from Russian sources familiar with the Fencer and its radios."

"The Yaroslavl Radioworks brochure on the R-862M is consistent with this reporting as it explicitly states that the radio can come with or without the VHF/UHF emergency receivers. This revelation, plus the US coming forward and officially backing Turkey's view that the Russian aircraft did violate Turkish airspace - again - doesn't leave Russia with a lot of wiggle room."

RUSSIAN AVIATION RADIOS ARE NOT CAPABLE OF RECEIVING THE EMERGENCY FREQUENCIES WITHOUT FURTHER MODIFICATION? HAS THIS BEEN MADE APPARENT TO THE RUSSIAN?
