Tripoli LHA-7.

This is coolbert:

Sea control, LHA style!

LHA = Landing Helicopter Assault.

Light carrier concept tested. Tripoli functioning as a "sea control" vessel. F-35B Lightning warplanes with STOVL capability demonstration.

From the Internet web site the "The Aviationist" an article by DAVID CENCIOTTI, April 9, 2022.

"USAF F-117 Integrated With U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Involved In ‘Lightning Carrier’ Concept Demo"

"During “Lightning Carrier” Concept Demonstration, amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli operated with a record 20 F-35Bs."

"The U.S. Marine Corps loaded a whopping 20 F-35B aboard the USS Tripoli (LHA-7) as part of the 'Lightning carrier' concept demonstration last week. The purpose of the demo was to show Tripoli and other amphibious assault ships’ ability to operate as dedicated fixed-wing carrier platforms, capable of bringing fifth generation Short Takeoff/Vertical Landing [STOVL] aircraft wherever they are required."

LHA NORMALLY HELICOPTER ASSAULT VESSELS. LAND BY CHOPPER A U.S. MARINE TASK FORCE, BATTALION-SIZE NEAR OR ONTO AN OBJECTIVE!

Better to describe this as a demonstration of the LIGHT-CARRIER concept rather than the "Lightning carrier" concept?

American fleet aircraft carriers such as the USS FORD class in a time of war numbers can be augmented with the LHA configured and opearating in the sea control mode with a full complement of twenty F-35B.

F-35B also experiencing DACT type aerial training the opposition a F-117 Nighthawk stealth warplane. A good real-world test of F-35 sensors and warfighting capability. Detect a F-117 and you can well assume you can detect any other warplane in existence. I guess that is the idea.

Go F-35B and go F-117 too!
