These images make it clear that the use of a wedge-shaped firing ramp as constructed by combat engineers can give an advantage in tank versus tank combat.

 Hull-down firing position with the main-gun of the tank DEPRESSED below the HORIZONTAL!

ONLY a small  portion of the defending tank visible to the enemy [the enemy presumably in the open]. And that small portion consisting of the thickest armor, relatively impervious to anti-tank fire.

From these images this is all obvious to even the most casual observers?
