Selfie.

This is coolbert:

Some extracts from the Internet web site informnapalm.org the Ukraine Conflict.

First OSINT [open-source intelligence] as it applies to the Bucha Massacre. Identify the perpetrators.

1. "War criminals identified: identification data of scouts of the Russian 64th Motorized Rifle Brigade"

05/03/2022 | |

"Photo materials handed over to volunteers of InformNapalm volunteer intelligence community by the security forces of Ukraine became the starting point for this OSINT investigation. We were asked for help with additional intelligence and OSINT on these war criminals. In mid-April, we received more than 13 GB [gigabyte] of photos and videos for study copied from the smartphone of a Russian serviceman, which was found by the Ukrainian military in the city of Bucha in late March 2022."

No matter how many times you tell these soldiers to NOT carry your smart phone with you the message seems to be never received or properly digested. The taking of a "selfie" or a group photo of your unit with objects of some sort in the background that can be used for geo-location also should be eschewed. But the temptation of having the phone in your possession and using at whim seems to be too great for some. Your smart phone - leave home without it! A command and not a request!

See at this blog entry how the Russian military disposes of soldier smart phones when confiscated.

Second the role of the Russian thieves in law and their abuse of Russian military personnel.

2. "Trending in Russia: criminals extort money from the military men who participated in hostilities"

01/08/2022 | |

"Russian regional news website URA.RU published an article providing details of systematic extortion of money from Russian servicemen. Soldiers and officers alike became victims of the local criminals and ethnic gangs, who collected tribute from them on a regular basis. Among the extorted there were combatants who took part in the Russian military campaigns outside of Russia. In the context of this publication, InformNapalm volunteers would like to remind the readers of the Russian military from the brigades permanently deployed in Yugra, who took part in the aggression against Ukraine."

Russian organized crime the notorious Thieves in Law extorting money from soldiers. Russian mafia their behavior even at a time of national crisis and war obscene in the extreme.

Lastly the burial of Russian military personnel as casualties of the Ukraine Conflict.

3. "Pantheon: elite military cemetery growing quietly near Moscow"

08/02/2022 | |

"Gradually, the shadow of losses in the war with Ukraine starts to grow on every Russian. The Russian authorities last talked about their military losses back in March. Since then, only the Ukrainian General Staff has been diligently running the counter of Russian losses. In the past few months, memorial plaques dedicated to the servicemen liquidated in Ukraine have been put up on numerous walls in Russian regions."

Satellite images showing the Russian military cemetery dedicated [?] to the command elite rapidly filling up from recent battlefield deaths.

See also this prior blog entry, special laws enacted prior to 24 February allowing for expedited internment of Russian soldiers during war time. Headlines that at the time seemed to be ominous and indeed were.
