This is coolbert:
Gaza means "strong". Referring to battlements and fortifications.
As it was four-thousand years ago as it is now!

"A brief overview of Gaza in Jewish history, from the Bronze Age to the present day."
The various lectures [many of them] courtesy Professor Henry Abramson most impressive. I recommend highly without qualification or reservation. Animosity and conflict between the Gazan and the Hebrews at least a three-thousand year old ongoing affair.
“For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they carried into exile a whole people to deliver them up to Edom. So I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour her strongholds” - Amos 1:6–7.
Gaza more than familiar with war and the ravages of war. From the Bronze Age unto the modern era. Bows and arrows in olden times, JDAM bomb today!
