Discharges.

This is coolbert:

Battlefield injury but of a most extraordinary kind.

U. S. Marine artillerymen the Syrian desert firing big-bore [155 mm] M777 rounds against Islamic State targets apparently injured by their own weaponry.

"The only thing remarkable about their deployments was the sheer number of artillery rounds they had fired"

From Isegoria.net vial Yahoo.com the original story the New York Times | November 9th, 2023.

"An investigation by the New York Times found that many of the troops sent to bombard the Islamic State in 2016 and 2017 returned to the United States plagued by nightmares, panic attacks, depression and, in a few cases, hallucinations"

"Interviews with more than 40 gun crew veterans and their families in 16 states found that the military repeatedly struggled to determine what was wrong after the troops returned from Syria and Iraq."

I had thought ONLY hearing damage from lack of adequate protection gear but this is far beyond that. Repetitive discharges of the M777 by gun crews an exceptional number over a period of months stunning and shocking the human system in totality and causing brain damage and injury to the rest of the body of a serious nature.

Read the entire original New York Times article the investigation as reported.

Adequate hearing protection for all high-power weapons of whatever sort only EAR CUPS will suffice and not merely ear plugs. I doubt even that bare essential type of protection even offered to the troops.
