X or EX? That is the question?

I am confused but only partially so.

American F-15 warplane retrofit. But is it X version or EX version? Or both?

Thanks to the Internet website The National Interest:

1. F-15X. Retrofitted with a STAND-OFF weapons capability. Firing American hypersonic missile.

2. F-15EX. Retrofitted with technology enabling the warplane to function with the LOYAL WINGMAN [Valkyrie].

YOU CAN HAVE ONE BUT NOT BOTH? BUDGET CONSTRAINTS AND ALL THAT!
