'The Ministry of the Interior has detected and is working to neutralize and dismantle a human trafficking network operating from Russia to incorporate Cuban citizens living there, and even some from Cuba, into the military forces participating in war operations in Ukraine'

My understanding from what I read is that these Cuban nationals recruited with them understanding they would NOT perform military duty, mortal combat at the front. Were expected to perform labor, reconstruction of damage Luhansk People's Republic and Donetsk People's Republic. In the combat zone but NOT in the combat.

Now the Cubano is being told he must pick up a weapon and move forward? This was NOT in the contract as originally understood.

Keep in mind that the Cuban army during the era of the Cold War considered to be an adjunct to the Soviet Red army. Acting as the cat's-paw, performing military action in what were at the time deemed Third World nations in furtherance of Soviet international intrigue.
