Watercraft.

This is coolbert:

I am not sure if these are going to make much of a difference in the Ukraine Conflict. But the gesture is worthwhile? Ukraine with the Dneiper and Dneister does have some significant rivers that these vessels can be useful.

"Pentagon Adds 40 Armed Patrol Boats to Latest Ukraine Military Aid Package"

Monitor = "A monitor is a relatively small warship which is neither fast nor strongly armored but carries disproportionately large guns."

From the U.S. Naval Institute News ^ | November 7, 2022 | Heather Mongilio tip from Freeper.

"The United States will send 40 armored riverine boats to Ukraine as part of the latest assistance package. The riverine boats are part of a $400 million aid package announced Friday. It’s the second time the U.S. is sending riverine boats to Ukraine as part of ongoing assistance in response to the Russian invasion. The aid assistance package does not detail the type of riverine boats the U.S. is sending to Ukraine."

Lots of slat armor to protect from the rocket-propelled grenade [RPG]. From the Vietnam era American riverine [brown water] warship.

Image of the monitor appear to be a Gen-2 [howitzer] type vessel as used in Vietnam. Those individual boats did have some significant organic firepower for their size.

Type of riverine watercraft as to be supplied to the Ukrainian not mentioned. We Will have to wait a while.
