Yet one more Russian general officer bites the dust! Have we lost count or what? One-two-three many!
"Bite the dust" is an idiom that means to die, fail, or be defeated."
"Russian Lt. General Oleg Tsokov Killed in Ukraine—Reports"
From https://www.newsweek.com | the article by ISABEL VAN BRUGEN ON 7/11/23.
"Atop Russian general has been killed in the war in Ukraine, according to an advisor to the mayor of Mariupol."
KILLED BY A BRITISH STORM SHADOW CRUISE MISSILE DIRECT HIT?
"Lieutenant General Oleg Tsokov was reportedly killed near the Russian-controlled port city of Berdyansk in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region, Petr Andryushchenko wrote on his Telegram channel on Tuesday."
"Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Anton Gerashchenko, posted news of Tsokov's death on Twitter."
[....]
"Tsokov had been commander of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division since August 2022. He received the rank of lieutenant general earlier this year."
That phenomenon unexpected of Russian senior military commanders being killed-in-action startling? My own perspective as has been stated before is that high-ranking officers having to approach to close to the line-of-contact. Lower ranking officers and personnel skittish and recalcitrant at moving forward and accomplishing mission with vigor? Some "kick-in-the-butt" needed as incentive to perform tasks assigned according to norms and standards!
