"Any foreign troops coming to Syria without our invitation ... are invaders. ... We don't think this is going to help." - - Assad.
From the Sheldon Adelson Internet web site Israel Hayom the comments of the Syrian despot Assad regarding the deployment of American military units in force to northern Syria.
"US soldiers deployed in Syria are invaders, says Assad"
"Syrian president says additional American troops sent to fight Islamic State arrived 'without invitation' • Nothing will come of Geneva peace talks, U.S. rhetoric on Syria,The United States is leading a coalition against Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. In Syria, the U.S. is working with an alliance of Kurdish and Arab militias. Their current focus is on encircling and capturing Raqqa, Islamic State's base of operations in Syria."
. . . .
"Last week, the U.S.-led coalition announced that around 400 additional U.S. forces had deployed to Syria to help with the Raqqa campaign and to prevent any clash between Turkey and U.S.-allied Syrian militias, which Ankara sees as a threat."
PLEASE VIEW THE EMBEDDED VIDEO OF THE STRYKER VEHICLES. NOT ONE AMERICAN TROOP VISIBLE! I AM NOT SURE WHAT THAT MEANS.
And yes, the deployment "without invitation" does represent an invasion, however benign and however well-intentioned.
