Sykes-Picot.

This is coolbert:

From Rezib Khan at the Ron Unz Internet web site we have this article.

"The Islamic State Is Right About Some Things"

"The Islamic State is right that the Sykes-Picot Agreement is a shambles and ended. The delusion of a multi-ethnic and multi-religious Iraq and Syria has collapsed. What replaces it we do not know."

Those nations of the Middle East as they exist now creations of the European colonial powers, Britain and France. Land of the defeated Ottoman Empire divided in a manner advantageous to the British and French but also done in a manner heedless of history, ethnic squabbles, religion, local aspirations, etc.

The combatants of ISIL now having redrawn the boundary lines of the Middle East in an irrevocable manner, contemptuous hatred for Sykes-Picot obvious in this ISIL produced video.

Further on the break-up of the Middle East. Everything you always wanted to know. "A historic drama is unfolding"!!!

1. "The Watch on the Jordan".

"THE ARAB world is in turmoil. Syria and Iraq are breaking apart, the thousand-year old conflict between Muslim Sunnis and Muslim Shiites is reaching a new climax. A historic drama is unfolding around us."

NOT merely ARAB.

2. "A Short History of Stupidity in the Middle East".

3. "Bill Moyers Essay: What We Can Learn From Lawrence of Arabia".

"The hopeful Lawrence drew his own 'peace map' of the region, one that paid closer heed to tribal allegiances and rivalries. The map could have saved the world a lot of time, trouble and treasure, one historian said, providing the region 'with a far better starting point than the crude imperial carve up.'”

4. "Gertrude of Arabia, the Woman Who Invented Iraq".

"The story of the British intelligence agent who rigged an election, installed a king loyal to the British, drew new borders—and gave us today’s ungovernable country."

T.E. Lawrence described by Churchill "one of the seven most important men in the world" at the end of the Great War [WW1]. That map and division of the Middle East as suggested by Lawrence not done, the problems created that legacy continuing unabated to this very day. And NOW ISIL correcting! Such seems to be the case.
