Sinjar Mountain.

This is coolbert:

The decision has been made. The cogs and wheels are in motion. Unleash the dogs of war!!

1. "Obama Authorizes Limited Airstrikes in Iraq"
"President Obama said Thursday that United States military aircraft had dropped food and water to thousands of Iraqis besieged by Islamic militants on a mountaintop in northern Iraq."

"Speaking from the State Dining Room at the White House, the president said he had directed the United States military forces to conduct targeted airstrikes on the militants if they moved to take Erbil, threatening the American citizens and military personnel there."

Evidently there is now and has been about one-hundred-fifty American military and diplomatic personnel in Erbil.

2. "U.S. Approves Airstrikes on Iraq, Airdrops Aid"

"President Obama: U.S. Military Authorized to Make Targeted Airstrikes in Northern Iraq"

"President Barack Obama authorized the U.S. military on Thursday to make targeted strikes against Islamist militants in northern Iraq, and began an emergency airdrop of water and food to members of a religious minority [Yazidi] trapped in the mountains by advancing Islamist militants, U.S. officials said."

Already the first drops of food and water have been made? That was a fast reaction. And most commendable. Very much so.

Sinjar mountain[s] also well known to American military forces. An observation post located there at the time of the Second Gulf War [2003].
