Typhoon vs. Su-24.

This is coolbert:

Breaking headlines:

First from Israeli Arutz Sheva 7 as per the tip from Freeper.

1. "Syrian Warplanes Test British Air Defenses in Cyprus"

"RAF Typhoon fighters recently won a mid-air showdown with two Syrian warplanes heading towards Britain’s base in Cyprus."

"RAF Typhoon fighters won a mid-air showdown with two Syrian warplanes heading towards Britain’s main base in Cyprus"

"The dramatic confrontation came after President Bashar Al-Assad’s air chiefs sent two Russian-made Sukhoi Su-24s to probe British air defenses, the report said."

"The Syrian bombers refused to respond to repeated attempts by the control tower at the UK’s Akrotiri air base to contact them."

And this too from only a few days ago, the Famagusta Gazette, Cyprus and also the tip from Freeper.

2. "BREAKING: British Typhoons in near clash with Turkish jets over Cyprus"

"• Tuesday, 03 September, 2013"

"British and Turkish fighter planes nearly clashed over the skies of Cyprus yesterday after two Typhoon Eurofighters scrambled from Akrotiri airbase."

"Details remain unclear, but CyBC says informed sources said the Typhoons, which are part of a total of six aircraft sent to the RAF Akrotiri airbase for possible actions against Syria, flew over the Turkish occupied part of Cyprus to intercept 'unidentified planes'."

BEST [?] fighter plane in the world piloted by the BEST [?] fighter pilots TWICE within the span of several days now being scrambled into action, unidentified aircraft approaching and not responding to queries from ground controllers. NO combat but close.

A test of resolve, just to see how the British would respond at least with regard to item # 1. So I would think.
