From the latest edition of the DEBKAfile newsletter it is asserted that American and Russian military forces will begin to operate in harmony to defeat the combatants of the Islamic State [ISIL]. EVEN A COMBINED OPERATION?

"a combined US, Russian, Syrian and Jordanian force is preparing for a major operation to liberate the Syrian heritage town of Palmyra from the Islamic State."

PREVIOUSLY I had thought Palmyra had been liberated. Portions of the city once again under ISIL control? JOINT operation in what manner not specified.

Coalition warfare rarely succeeds! We shall see!
