Foiled.

This is coolbert:

Once more, Russian military assets in Syria under attack. This time the raiders come from the sky, courtesy unmanned aerial vehicles [UAV].

AN ATTACK HOWEVER FOILED!

Thanks to Sputnik.

"Russian Military Prevents Drone Attack on Syrian Hmeimim Airbase, Tartus Naval Base"

"Overnight on January 6, militants in Syria launched a massive attack against Russian military facilities, including the Tartus Naval base and Hmeimin airbase, with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles."

UAV AERIAL ASSAULT REPELLED BY THE USE OF ANTI-AIRCRAFT-ARTILLERY [AAA] AND JAMMING GEAR! RUSSIANS PREPARED.

The old ways are the best ways! Special operations type ranger/commando units hands-on ground attack the old fashioned way to be preferred. NOT using UAV from afar remotely controlled!

Think in the historical context::

1. Barce Raid, British Long-Range Desert Group. WW2.

2. Pebble Island Raid, British SAS. Falkland Islands war.

3. Bien Hoa mortar attack. Second Indo-China War. Viet Cong.

4. Camp Holloway Attack. Second Indo-China War. Viet Cong.

Warplanes destroyed on the ground by dedicated and resolute attackers a very cost-efficient way of doing business too. YES, the old ways often are preferable.
