Buryatia.

This is coolbert:

Largest known Russian armament depot armored vehicles a sizeable percentage gone the Ukraine Conflict.

"Satellite images reveal Russia is running out of tanks"

From "The Telegraph" via yahoo.com | the story by Nataliya Vasilyeva | August 9, 2023.

"The open-air depot in remote Buryatia, in eastern Siberia, pictured in 2023, has lost about 40 per cent of the tanks and armored vehicles it had previously been housing - Google Earth"

"Russia has cleared out over a third of the Soviet-era vehicles held at its largest known military storage facility since the start of the Ukraine invasion."

[....]

"Russia has reportedly started to re-import parts for tanks and missiles previously sold to India and Myanmar in an apparent attempt to upgrade older vehicles, such as those stored in Buryatia, before sending them to fight in Ukraine."

No mention as to what types of armor having been removed the depot. I imagine a combination of tanks and armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles of all types and designations.

All this armor will need to be refurbished and perhaps retrofitted prior to being sent to the front. I can well understand that the Russian high command NEVER anticipating such an eventuality. The war was supposed to be over in TWO WEEKS max!

How humiliating also to have to BUY spare parts for your own gear from foreign nations! Approach with cap-in-hand and in an abject manner? Russian pride and honor is being severely tested.

"cap in hand: adverb - In a humble and respectful manner"
