This is coolbert:
NUCLEAR POWERS ONCE AGAIN ENGAGE IN LOW INTENSITY STYLE WARFARE.
JAMMU AND KASHMIR [J & M].
From Freeper without further elaboration:
"Attack on Indian Army Camp in Jammu and Kashmir Kills 7 Soldiers, 3 Militants"
"Seven Indian soldiers and three attackers were killed when armed militants stormed an army base in the northern Jammu and Kashmir state early Tuesday. The latest incident is likely to further heighten tensions between India and Pakistan, whose ties hit a low point following a September attack on an Indian army camp in the disputed Kashmir region. The soldiers and militants were killed in a gun battle that raged for hours after the assailants lobbed grenades and opened fire while trying to enter the Nagrota base"
AGAIN THIS SOUNDS LIKE THE SAPPER STYLE SUICIDAL TERRORIST MISSION AS SO FAVORED BY THE COMMUNIST DURING THE SECOND INDO-CHINA WAR!
FURTHER ESCALATION OF HOSTILITIES BY PARTICIPANTS UNWISE UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES!!

LCS II.
This is coolbert:
More on the American LCS warships. Gabby Giffords takes to the sea!!
"USS Gabrielle Giffords Completes Acceptance Trials"
LCS [littoral combat ships] NOT dead in the water. That number of about forty to be built, considerable numbers of the vessels already under construction.
"The MMSC modifications were numerous. Armament was much heavier .. . and [with] more extensive electronics and defensive systems than the original LCS . . . A helicopter will also be carried on the MMSC"
. . . .
"The LCS class consists of two variants -- the Freedom variant and the Independence variant -- designed and built by two industry teams."
"Each LCS will be outfitted with a single mission package made up of mission modules containing war fighting systems and support equipment. A dedicated ship crew will combine with aviation assets to deploy manned and unmanned vehicles and sensors in support of mine countermeasures, anti-submarine warfare, or surface warfare missions."
TOO MUCH ALREADY INVESTED IN THE WARSHIPS TO TURN BACK NOW! LCS AS ORIGINALLY CONCEIVED AND ENVISIONED NOT DO-ABLE BUT RATHER A LESSER [?] VERSION TAKES TO THE HIGH SEAS.
WINDS AT YOUR BACK LCS!

LCS I.
This is coolbert:
Dynamic change at work!
I thought LCS was down and out for good but this is not so!
LCS [Littoral Combat Ship] becomes a frigate. LCS not so dead after all. Merely now will exist in a new form. MMSC! Multi-Mission Surface Combatant.
As extracted from the article at Strategy Page the much maligned LCS of the U.S. Navy continues:.
"Surface Forces: The Devolution Of LCS"
"September 20, 2016: The United States Navy has decided to come full circle and turn its innovative LCS (Littoral Combat Ship) into what its designers had tried to avoid; a replacement for the 71 Perry class frigates"
. . . ."the U.S. Navy has decided to permanently install modules (either surface warfare, mine warfare or anti-submarine warfare) in the 40 LCS ships the navy plans to have. Over half of those have already been built."
Two variants of the LCS ONLY to be constructed rather than the ALL ships having a capability to be task-tailored for a specific mission, modules as described to be "PERMANENTLY INSTALLED"!

Ajax.
This is coolbert:
"Will it play in Peoria?"
From the Daily Mail and thanks to the tip from Freeper the British going to retire about one-third [1/3] of their MBT [main-battle-tank] from the inventory and replace with THIS?
AJAX!!
"Britain to be left with fewer tanks than Serbia as existing war machines are replaced by Ajax armoured vehicles – but could they stand up to a Russian attack?"
* "Army plan to cut number of front line Challenger 2 tanks by up to a third"
* "Hundreds of new Ajax armoured vehicles are to be their replacement"
* "But critics say new tanks are only useful against 'incompetent enemies'"
Those existing British Challenger II MBT in all fairness to receive a modernization and upgrade. Will be much more effective and if units formed from that correct mix of Challenger and Ajax can be quite deadly.
To be honest also the English seem to be fond of small armored vehicles such as Fox, Ferret, etc. U.S. Marines as well find such combat vehicles to be useful. Ponderous is not always best?

Ajax! Has that 40 mm rapid-fire cannon. Very closely resembles the Swedish CV 90 armored vehicle? With the proper type of armor-piercing round that cannon can defeat an enemy MBT? NO option for an anti-tank guided-missile but does have that 76 mm dual multiple-grenade launcher that can fire fragmentation rounds?

Ammonia.
This is coolbert:
Here with two analysis diametrically opposed As germane to the Global War on Terror [GWOT]
Thanks to the Sheldon Adelson Internet web site Israel Hayon.
"'Direct strike on Haifa ammonia tank could kill 17,500 people'"
A direct hit [?] by a single missile [rocket artillery for instance] on a single ammonia storage tank the result a catastrophe, the number of casualties at least equal to the detonation of an atomic device? So it is alleged.
"Speaking of the possibility that the facility could be struck by enemy missiles, Lapid said that 'the most careful casualty assessment we have been presented with speaks of 17,500 immediate fatalities, and 42,000 fatalities within three hours. That's twice as much as in all of Israel's wars combined.'"
. . . .
"Haifa Chemicals Vice President of Operations Amichai Zaider tried to allay concerns, saying the risk was not as high as it was painted out to be. 'Our worst-case assessments speak of dozens of causalities. If there's sufficient notice for people to stay inside, there should be no fatalities.'"
THESE CASUALTY "ASSESSMENT" SO DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSED YOU HAVE TO WONDER WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? EXCESSIVE ALARM NOT GOOD BUT PRUDENCE ALWAYS A GOOD THING WHEN WMD TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION?
Danger to the public from inhaling the ammonia gas and not from an explosion of the ammonia? This is unclear to me!

PGK.
This is coolbert:
From the Barking Moonbat Internet web site some details of the American howitzer M777 weapons system.
Emphasis in this case on the EXPENSE AS INVOLVED IN FIRING A SINGLE PRECISION-GUIDED ROUND! Excalibur M982.
"Defense Department to Build 'Buntline' Howitzer"
". . . the M777 has kind of had a 40km range for 9 years now, but that was pretty much only with the magnificent M982 Excalibur shell, a guided munition . . . during the fighting phase of Gulf War II - that cost a mere $150,000 USD a shot. But double good news there! Not only has mass production lowered the cost to a bargain basement $70,000 USD per shot, a new, really inexpensive ($15,000 USD or less), replacement fuse with steering fins has been developed that works 99.5% as well (12 meters accuracy at 40 kilometers vs 5 meters at 40 kilometers), attached to an exploding shell that can destroy everything within a 50 meters radius of where it goes off), that will fit on any standard shell in the arsenal. This is the XM1156 Precision Guidance Kit [PGK]."
Cheaper by the bushel full. Each and every time a Excalibur precision-guided round fired $150,000 USD that cost reduced by more than half due to mass-production. In addition a kit now available that allows a CONVENTIONAL ROUND to be converted to a precision-guided munition at one-tenth [1/10] the cost of the M982 [Excalibur]!!
Artillery best evaluated as that system able to fire FURTHEST WITH ACCURACY!
NOBODY EVER SAID WAR WAS CHEAP EITHER, DID THEY?

Yarmouk.
This is coolbert:
As germane to the previous blog entry.
Muslim soldiers during the Battle of Yarmouk their courage failing, having admonishments and threats directed at them from their wives.
"May Allah curse those who run from the enemy!" . . . "You are not our husbands if you cannot save us from these infidels." - - the Muslim women at the Battle of Yarmouk.
"Other women began to beat drums and sang an improvised song"
"O you who run from a constant woman
Who has both beauty and virtue;
And leave her to the infidel,
The hated and evil infidel,
To possess, disgrace and ruin!"
"We are the daughters of the night;
We move among the cushions
With a gentle feline grace
And our bracelets on our elbows.
If you advance we shall embrace you;
And if you retreat we shall forsake you
With a loveless separation."
Wives of the Islamic warriors accompanied their husbands during military expeditions during that era immediately after the death of Mohammad. Seems it is so.
That message again quite clear! Be brave and you will get some. NOT brave and you will not get some. No further elaboration required.

Monkeys.
This is coolbert:
As seen at the outstanding Internet web site isegoria.net and as reported during a time of conflict between TROOPS of monkeys, that male or displaying the greatest amount of courage and bravery receiving the attention of the females to the EXCLUSION of the shirker.
"Female monkeys use wile to rally troops"
"Female vervet monkeys manipulate males into fighting battles by lavishing attention on brave soldiers while giving noncombatants the cold shoulder"
"After a skirmish with a rival gang, usually over food, females would groom males that had fought hardest, while snapping at those that abstained."
"When the next battle came along, both those singled out for attention and those aggressively shunned would participate more vigorously in combat, according to a study published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society"
I MAKE NO FURTHER COMMENT BUT LEAVE THE DEVOTED FOLLOWER OF THE BLOG TO PERUSE AT THEIR LEISURE AND MAKE THEIR OWN ESTIMATIONS. AS WITH MONKEYS SO WITH HUMANS? GIVE THAT MAN [MONKEY] THE MEDAL OF HONOR.

Pigeon ISIL.
This is coolbert:
NOT for OVER a period of seventy years has such a thing occurred. The carrier pigeon as a means of waging war. At least to my knowledge.
AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF THE CRUSADES SO IT IS NOW IN THE WAR AGAINST THE ISLAMIC STATE!
"Information Warfare: Islamic Terrorists Caught Using Carrier Pigeons"
Devoted readers to the blog will instantly appreciate my interest is such an item!
From the entry as seen at Strategy Page and extract with comments:
"May 11, 2016: Jordanian border guards recently intercepted a carrier pigeon carrying messages for ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant). Jordan has a 375 kilometer border with Syria and has been able to keep ISIL out so far. But some of the million or more Syrian refugees in Jordan are actually ISIL members or sympathizers. ISIL has learned to be very careful with communications so that their few operatives in Jordan remained undiscovered by the police. Now that the Jordanians are aware of the ISIL use of carrier pigeons they can bring in specialists (Bedouins expert in spotting and taking down birds) to deal with the problem."
"Carrier pigeons have been retired by most armies with China the only major nation to still use them . . . . China . . . has continued to maintain thousands of homing pigeons for military communications duty."
THE ARAB AND THE BEDOUIN IN PARTICULAR ESPECIALLY FOND OF AND VERY ADEPT AT THE ART OF FALCONRY. RAPTOR BIRDS AS ARE PROBABLY BEING USED TO "DOWN" THE ISLAMIC STATE CARRIER PIGEONS! I MIGHT WELL IMAGINE THAT "TAKING DOWN" INVOLVES IN THIS INSTANCE THE USE OF FALCONS!!
In warfare the old ways are often the best ways and are to be preferred over a more modern approach?

For every problem there is a solution so the old adage goes. Proven correct in this case?
"Airspace can catch high-speed drones all by itself"
"San Leandro-based Airspace Systems is making a business out of solving the toughest problems facing the emerging drone industry."
WE ARE SPEAKING HERE OF THE MINI-DRONE AS A THREAT! AND THE COUNTER TO THE DRONE AS USED AS A WEAPON OF WAR OR AS A NUISANCE DANGEROUS TO COMMERCIAL AIR TRAFFIC.
"The company designed a drone of its own, jam-packed with sensors and machine intelligence, to autonomously intercept threatening drones at high speeds and carry them away from large crowds. If you think this sounds difficult, you would be right."
AUTONOMOUSLY ABLE TO DO SO!! A SMART MACHINE NOT EVEN REQUIRING THE HUMAN INTERFACE WHAT IT IS CALLED?

Condoms.
This is coolbert:
To war with condom, Israeli style?
Came across this too quite by accident. Caracal Israeli mixed-gender combat units seen by Israeli combat arms officers as not so combat effective. For a reason that always has been the concern of senior military officials when considering the formation of such units [mixed-gender].
"his [Baransky] opposition to mixed units does not stem only from religious beliefs but because from an objective perspective it is not healthy to mix the genders [in combat units]. He said that in internal IDF investigations of the mixed units efficacy, it became apparent that they performed at lower standards than all men units. Even worse, wherever they were stationed 'contraceptives ran out in the space of half a day' at the base canteen, hardly a situation the IDF can allow in its combat units on base".- - Israeli Colonel Baransky.

CC-2.
This is coolbert:
Came across this one quite by accident. From the wiki in part WHY the German did not resort to chemical weapons during the Second World War [WW2]:
"the Allies knew the Germans had quantities of Gas Blau available for use in the defense of the Atlantic Wall. The use of nerve gas on the Normandy beachhead would have seriously impeded the Allies and possibly caused the invasion to fail altogether. [that question being asked] 'Why was nerve gas not used in Normandy?' [as asked of] Hermann Göring . . . Göring answered that the reason gas was not used had to do with horses. The Wehrmacht was dependent upon horse-drawn transport to move supplies to their combat units, and had never been able to devise a gas mask horses could tolerate; the versions they developed would not pass enough pure air to allow the horses to pull a cart. Thus, gas was of no use to the German Army under most conditions".
Comments:
* Gas Blau not a toxic chemical warfare agent? Used for inflating balloons and dirigibles and not lethal on the battlefield?
* Germany prior to what is commonly perceived during the Second World War highly dependent on horses as prime-movers.
* Germany possessing nerve agent prior to D-Day. ALLIED GAS MASK FILTERS AT THAT TIME INEFFECTIVE AGAINST NERVE AGENT!
* My understanding has always been that the Germans also believed the allies had nerve gas. The allies did not have nerve gas, but the German did believe so. That threat of retaliation in kind enough to dissuade the German chemical weapons. Perception is reality more so than reality is fact?
* Allies when landing at Normandy having issued to their troops the antidote for bio toxin poisoning. Allied troop uniforms also treated with the chemical CC-2. Further protection against poison gas attack of the blister agent variety. CC-2 also resulting in the troop having a terrible odor and stink most foul about him for a prolonged period.
To war with horse but no gas mask for horse and no poison gas? Can it be so?

This is coolbert:
More on the independent European bloc army. NOT NATO. EU.resolution at this point without force of law too?
"EU Army approved, potentially saddling UK with £420mn annual bill"
All of a sudden, seemingly out of nowhere this has become a hot button issue.
RT also a propaganda arm of the Russian government and NOT practicing independent journalism as that term normally, ordinarily and commonly understood?
"The EU Parliament has passed a resolution to create a defense union in the wake of numerous threats to the continent. The proposals slap the UK with an annual bill worth hundreds of millions of pounds, despite Britain’s vote to leave the bloc"
“'Terrorism, hybrid threats and cyber and energy insecurity leave EU countries no choice but to step up their security and defense cooperation efforts, thus paving the way to the European Defence Union,'”
Defense costs in addition to that already allocated for NATO budget!! I am sure the average British voter is not going to be happy with this. Even to an extent demonstrates the very reason why the Brexit vote was yea and not nay!

In the near future or is now? Russian coastal defense units on the way or have already arrived in Kurile Islands.

Conclusion! Russia is a Pacific Ocean power!
In the near future or is now? Russian coastal defense units on the way or have already arrived in Kurile Islands.
Units equipped and ready to fire anti-ship missiles.

"Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble."
The Witches in MacBeth by Shakespeare.
"Sweden rebuilds Cold War missile system from museums"
"Sweden has reconstituted its old Cold War anti-ship defense system, pulling launch trucks out of museums, in its latest move to improve its defenses on the island of Gotland".
"The Kustrobotbatteri 90 was the only land-based launcher ever developed for the Saab Robotsystem 15 (RBS-15) anti-ship missiles, but only one of the four planned batteries was delivered before the coastal artillery was disbanded in 2000".
. . . .
"The RBS-15 missiles were launched from Scania trucks, several of which have now been recovered from museums."
“'A number of the trucks still remained. We have have taken components from existing missile boats and warships which had the same missile system'” - - Swedish Rear Admiral Thomas Engevall.
Take a missile off one boat, a radar system off another boat, find a truck in a museum, mix carefully and you have a working and operational anti-ship missile system? Sounds like a poor way to do things, but expediency and speed are the issue here. These missiles are needed NOW!

This is coolbert:
Here with an interesting bit of trivia that has a military connection and most pertinent to the recent American Presidential election.
THAT LOSS FOR GERMANY WAS A GAIN FOR AMERICA!
As seen at Freeper:
"Historian finds German decree banishing Trump's grandfather"
"A historian has discovered a royal decree issued to Donald Trump’s grandfather ordering him to leave Germany and never come back."
"Friedrich Trump, a German, was issued with the document in February 1905, and ordered to leave the kingdom of Bavaria within eight weeks as punishment for having failed to do mandatory military service and failing to give authorities notice of his departure to the US when he first emigrated in 1885."
THAT TRUMP FAMILY FORTUNE MADE ORIGINALLY DURING THE ALASKAN GOLD RUSH OF 1898. DONALD AS THE PRESIDENT-ELECT FRIEDRICH WOULD HAVE HIGHLY APPROVED?

From MARCONI through Harry at Sharkhunters we have an anecdotal account of a troop being issued and using stimulants during a combat situation:
"I [MARCONI] recall once using Benzedrine [bennie] during my British Army service. Obviously, it was under orders and the MO [medical officer] administered the tablets to us prior to leaving the base. This was in Aden circa 1967 but the month is vague - - I believe June. He told us to adhere to the dosage and not to exceed it under any circumstances. The reason was that we were involved in a operation in the hills of which Aden seems to be full. We had to be awake and alert for about three days. We were told to go straight to bed on completion of the job - - but being squaddies [English term for infantry], had a couple of cold beers first."
Stimulants during an anti-partisan military mission and FOR THE PURPOSE OF KEEPING THE INFANTRYMAN ON HIS TOES AND ALERT!!
But do not exceed the dosage under any circumstances. A little bit of the stimulant is good for you, a lot is bad for you.
Drinking alcohol after the mission also not a good idea. Mixing chemicals not under the supervision of a medical profession bad!
Insurrection in Aden during that period threatening British interests, Aden then as now in close proximity to the Bab al-Mandeb maritime choke point.

Suspicions confirmed?
"Top US Spy Chief Flees to Trump After Stopping 'False Flag' Attack (Video)"
"An astonishing Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) report circulating in the Kremlin today states that US Navy Admiral Mike Rogers, who heads the Obama regimes National Security Agency (NSA), United States Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) and is the Chief of the Central Security Service (CSS), fled to New York City on Thursday (17 November) seeking an urgent meeting with President-elect Donald Trump just hours after he, Rogers, single handedly aborted the unauthorized flight of one of America’s 'Doomsday Planes'”.
That TACAMO flight was not authorized without prior warning of the Russian?
Even beyond that, that combination of TACAMO in the air at the same time as Air Force 1, Air Force 2 and SAM flights got the attention of the Russian in a big way.
This WAS Proud Prophet and Able Archer all over again?

"The announcement was made as part of a cryptic broadcast and analysts believe it is a 'book cipher' for agents in foreign countries".
"The radio announcer said: '(I'm giving) chemistry review work to No 21 expedition agents,' before continuing with the numbers, which spies can decode using a reference book"

Juncker.
This is coolbert:
Here it is? In the nutshell! For the mouth of the horse itself as they say! Europeans spend a considerable sum on national defense [contributions to overall NATO defense as well?] but do not spend the money with efficiency. This is so?
As reported by the Russian Internet news outlet Sputnik:
"Efficiency of EU Military Budget 50% Lower Than in US – Juncker"
"EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said that European Union is spending a lot of money on defense but efficiency of this spending is twice as lower as in the United States."
"MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The European Union is spending a lot of money on defense but efficiency of this spending is twice as lower as in the United States, EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said on Friday."
"'We in Europe spend a lot of money on armament. The military budget the European Union amounts to 200 billion euro. Americans spend the same sum. But our efficiency amounts to only 50 percent of the US [military spending] efficiency,' Juncker said giving a lecture in the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano in northeastern Italy."
NOT so much the amount spent on military expenditures but rather efficiency with which how the money is spent is the problem? There is a reasonable remedy for this? This is all so simple?
See previous blog entry the topic of which is the military expenditures the European nations constituent members of NATO:
http://militaryanalysis.blogspot.com/2016/11/denmark.html
Indeed, budget concerns among NATO members now a subject of discussion because of the pronouncements of Donald Trump as President-Elect. A hot button issue surely it is?

Tal Afar.
This is coolbert:
The game is afoot! The fray has begun.
Consequences potentially extreme! Sunni versus Shia and the Turkish connection.
As from an article by Patrick Cockburn courtesy of Ron Unz.
1. "Battle to Drive Isis Out of Tal Afar Will be Bitter and Bloody" by Patrick Cockburn • as of November 15.
"Tal Afar is a small city notorious for sectarian hatred and slaughter, which may soon be engulfed by a final battle between Isis and its bitterest enemies. Shia paramilitaries seeking revenge for past massacres of their co-religionists may soon assault the place which has provided many of the most feared Isis commanders, judges and religious officials."
. . . .
"What happens next in Tal Afar has international implications because Turkey has threatened military intervention in defense of the Sunni Turkmen if the Shia paramilitaries enter the city. A Turkish mechanized brigade has been moved to the Turkish Iraqi border to give substance to the threat. The KDP, the dominant Kurdish party in this part of northern Iraq, is likewise worried by the presence of powerful Shia militia forces in the region."
". . . the struggle for Tal Afar could be the flash point leading to a wider conflict"
Think not so much the battle for Tal Afar but will occur afterwards that is worrisome!
Additionally and only from yesterday further on Tal Afar thanks to the Sheldon Adelson Internet web site Israel Hayom:
2. "Shiite Iraqi militia threatens Islamic State's main supply route"
"'The airport of Tal Afar has been liberated,' Iranian-backed militias' official tells Iraqi state TV • Airport's seizure could alarm Turkey, wary of Shiite involvement in the civil war in Syria • Army continues advancing on Mosul from north and east."
"Iraqi Shiite militias said on Wednesday they had driven Islamic State fighters from an air base west of Mosul, a victory which would threaten the Sunni group's supply route from Syria to its last major stronghold in Iraq."
A Turkish response and border crossing into Iraq not desirable. Obviously and intuitively so. The Sunni and Shia in conflict for fourteen-hundred years and probably always will be.

This is coolbert:
Donald the President-Elect has fomented and agitated within the NATO community and his remarks now heeded? So might seem.
Nations constituent members of NATO now considering to increase their fair share of spending with regard to the alliance military readiness? As seen at Reuters:
"Denmark to up military spending, PM says after Trump call"
"Denmark is ready to increase military and national security spending, Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said on Wednesday after a phone conversation with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump."
"Trump criticized NATO allies during campaigning for the White House, saying they did not pay enough for their own defense and suggested the United States was paying a disproportionate amount."
"Denmark spends about 1.2 percent of GDP on defense. NATO has set its members a target of spending 2 percent of GDP on defense."
CONSIDERING TO INCREASE without an outright declaration to INCREASE! But at least we are getting somewhere.
Don not even in office yet but his campaign pronouncements taken seriously. Lokke and the Danes at least are reacting. Lokke Rasmussen at this exact moment in a reflective moment and having some anxiety. NOT so easy to pay for the welfare state when more revenues devoted to defense.

This is coolbert:
From Freeper more on the EU defense force. The European militaries welded into a single structure independent of NATO?
"The EU might be one step closer to having its own army as it backs a new defense plan"
"EU ministers approved a common defense plan on Monday despite sharp differences over how far it should go, as Donald Trump's election win stoked fears about Washington's commitment to European security. Trump's campaign threat to think twice about defending NATO allies unless they up their defense spending"
We also need to be 100 % abundantly and absolutely clear about this. Donald Trump as President-Elect merely wants those nation-states constituent members of NATO as it exists at this exact moment to pay their fair share of the NATO budget as agreed upon. PAYING YOUR FAIR SHARE AS AGREED UPON PRESENTS A PROBLEM FOR SOME?
That European independent military force will also needs to have a budget and resources that must be paid somehow. EU planners will face the same dilemma? Some nation-states willing to pay their fair share while others will not? This has been thought through?
See previous blog entries the topic of which was an independent EU military force:

This is coolbert:
Yet more Swedish stuff! Thanks to Freeper.
After many years of neglect the Swedish military once again on the rebound.
In response to what is perceived as a world-wide disintegrating status quo?
And having to make do for the interim with cobbled-together military hardware some of which had previously been dismantled? That total package the entire weapons system not instantaneously available!
"Sweden Re-introducing Truck-Based RBS15 Coastal Defense Batteries"
"The Swedish Armed Forces . . . announced today that land-based coastal defense batteries are on their way back. By reintroducing them, the Swedish Navy will be able to launch Saab-made RBS15 anti-ship missiles from the country's coastlines against targets at sea at great distances . . . The coastal batteries will be deployed by the Swedish Navy"
Also from MARCONI through Harry:
"In a surprise move, Sweden today announced that they will reintroduce truck-based coastal defense batteries equipped with the Saab RBS15 heavy-anti ship missile. This is not a new system for Sweden, which operated exactly such a unit for five years between 1995 and 2000. This was then rapidly disbanded in the general draw down of the Swedish Defense Forces . . . Crucially, the equipment was not stored for a possible reactivation, but dispersed without any kind of central plan. Some of the trucks were sold on the civilian market, some were used by Saab, FMV, or the defense forces themselves."
See the You Tube video of a RBS-15 launch. Booster first then sustainer.

"Four essential things Douglas MacArthur would tell President-elect Donald Trump"
Thanks to Fox News and the article by Arthur Herman.
"As Donald Trump, our new president-elect, starts to plan for the future, the man he should turn to for advice may have died more than fifty years ago, but his words and deeds live on. He’s General Douglas MacArthur, who actually has a lot in common with Donald Trump—and should be one of his role models as president."
"Like Trump, MacArthur was a maverick, an anti-establishment figure . . . America’s political elites who saw him as vain and arrogant but couldn’t deny his long list of achievements"
. . . .
"it was MacArthur’s determination to win in Korea by any means necessary, including nuclear weapons, and his public declaration that, 'there is no substitute for victory,' that led to his dismissal by President Truman in April 1951—and MacArthur’s run for the presidency the following year."
Advice from MacArthur to Trump as listed by Mr. Herman to include:
* "First, stand your ground."
* "Second, trust your gut."
* "Third, know your enemy."
* "Finally, keep your word."
Less than sanguine appraisals of MacArthur stress the extreme vanity of the man and an almost overwhelming ego. Trump also possesses both character traits as perceived in abundance. Ego and vanity as combined in one individual without the grace of humility can be dangerous? So the Romans thought so!

This is coolbert:
The subject of a prior blog entry we now have a better understanding of? Status quo, routine? My thanks to Freeper.
"Navy 'Doomsday Plane' Spotted in Colorado"
"A routine training flight by the U.S. Navy’s E-6B Mercury 'doomsday plane' captured the attention of sky-watchers this week in Colorado. The four-engine command-and-control plane based on Boeing Co.’s 707 airliner [this E-6B is not a 747?] on Wednesday took off from Travis Air Force Base in California and circled over Denver before continuing on to Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. It was apparently the hour-long racetrack holding pattern that turned the heads."
"Doomsday" as seen loitering over the Denver area, causing speculation in some quarters.
"Doomsday" as the TACAMO [Take Charge And Move Out] military aircraft that will issue the "go" codes to nuclear equipped units in time of global thermonuclear war.
Can be seen now as ROUTINE? That combination of AF-1, AF-2 and SAM all in the air at the same and in conjunction with a flight of a TACAMO aircraft was election time movement and nothing more apparently and NOT the result of a response to an impending crisis.
P.S.: This aircraft a TACAMO and not the "Doomsday" plane. The former a modified Boeing while the latter a Boeing 747 able to carry the National Command Authority. The former strictly a crew of military the latter a mix of military and civilian personnel.

Sho't HAPC.
This is coolbert:
Once more from that prior blog entry:
* "The Israelis removed the turret from the Sho’t and turned the tank’s hull into the Nagmachon armored personnel carrier."
The Israeli Sho't armor [Centurion] as modified by the Israeli ordnance. Turret removed, the vehicle converted into a heavy armored-personnel-carrier [HAPC]..
INDEED, A WHOLE FAMILY OF HAPC FROM SHO'T!
That "family" of Israeli HAPC to include:
* "The Nagma Sho’t was the first of the Sho’t converted APC’s. It was not as a successful due to the troops having to exit through the roof hatches."
* "Nagmachon is a heavily armoured personnel carrier [APC] fielded by the Israel Defense Forces. The Nagmachon evolved from the NagmaSho’t APC, which in turn was based on Centurion Sho’t hulls from the 1970s and 1980s"
* "Nakpadon or Nikpadon is an Israeli heavy armored personal carrier (HAPC) based on the Centurion-derived Nagmashot"
* "The Puma is a heavily armored Combat Engineering Vehicle [CEV] and armored personnel carrier [APC] that the Engineering Corps of the Israeli Defense Forces has used since the early 1990s . . . The Puma uses the hull of the Sho’t, which in itself is a modified British Centurion tank"
NOR must we forget Narmera. A Merkava indigenous designed and built Israeli tank THOSE MOST EARLY VERSIONS OF MERKAVA STRIPPED OF TURRET AND TRANSFORMED INTO A HEAVY ARMORED PERSONNEL CARRIER!
Thanks to the Tank Nut Dave Internet web site see images of all the Sho't derived HAPC.
And again, with Narmera the saga continues. ISRAELI ORDNANCE BY NECESSITY IS GOOD AT THIS SORT OF STUFF!

This is coolbert:
From that prior blog entry:
"Allied tanks of NATO vis-Ã -vis a Soviet opponent and while fighting defensively having a distinctive advantage. Firing from a wedge-shaped ramp able to depress the gun lower than the horizontal. Able to present to the enemy the bare-minimum of target and showing that thickest part of the protective armor in the process."
Allied armor of the NATO coalition having an advantage during mortal combat against the Soviet opponent, tank versus tank,
These images make it clear that the use of a wedge-shaped firing ramp as constructed by combat engineers can give an advantage in tank versus tank combat.
From these images this is all obvious to even the most casual observers?
During the 1973 Yom Kippur/Ramadan War the Israeli USING THESE WEDGE-SHAPED FIRING RAMPS WITH GREAT SKILL AND EFFECTIVENESS.
I have made this all clear? I hope so.

Hull-down firing position with the main-gun of the tank DEPRESSED below the HORIZONTAL!
ONLY a small portion of the defending tank visible to the enemy [the enemy presumably in the open]. And that small portion consisting of the thickest armor, relatively impervious to anti-tank fire.
From these images this is all obvious to even the most casual observers?

Hot intel message!
As we speak!
From AGRICOLA through Harry and as dated 18 November:
"NATO is moving drones and jets toward Estonia . . . They will complement the GMLRS systems [already deployed?]. Four days ago England began sending missile toward that area [Estonia]. These are the 200 pound long range rockets known as Guided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (GMLRS) that can fire up to 12 missiles per minute. The warheads are fitted with GPS which allows them to seek out targets while en route."

Asylum.
This is coolbert;
Nothing has been said about this for a while now.
Turkish military personnel with assignment to NATO staff duty unwilling to return home. Subject to arrest in the aftermath of the recent coup attempt? NOW SEEKING ASYLUM IN GERMANY!
"Report: 60 diplomatic passport holders, mostly soldiers, seeking asylum in Germany"
"According to a report in Deutsche Welle (DW) on Tuesday, most of the 60 Turkish diplomatic passport holders who are seeking asylum in Germany in the post coup period are military personnel who were representing Turkey at NATO. Given the fact that the military personnel at NATO have classified information regarding Turkey, which is a NATO ally, German officials are reportedly evaluating the applications with sensitivity. In an earlier report in October, German media said that 35 Turkish diplomatic passport holders had applied to Germany for political asylum."
Those military personnel seen as beholden to Gulen and his ideology? Too dangerous for them to ever return to Turkey. AND ASYLUM SEEKERS POSSESSING SECRET KNOWLEDGE AS MIGHT BE SOUGHT BY THE HIGHEST BIDDER!
THIS IS A SENSITIVE MATTER INDEED! TURKEY SEEN AS VITAL TO NATO INTERESTS. DO NOT ROCK THE BOAT WITH ERDOGAN!

Centurion.
This is coolbgert:
From The National Interest Internet web site an article with extracts and my commentary.
"Britain's Centurion: The Best Cold War Tank?"
As extracted with commentary from the article:
* "British tactics were faulty, favoring gallant charges by tanks acting without infantry or artillery support"
Think Operation Goodwood, 1944. British tanks during a break-through offensive in Normandy. Tanks out-paced the accompanying infantry and ran straight into the massed, prepositioned and sighted 88 mm anti-tank guns of the Waffen SS. Four-hundred tanks destroyed in three days the break-through operation stalled. It should be noted that three-hundred of those tanks repaired and brought back into action relatively quickly..
* "The T-55’s low height made it more difficult for the vehicle to assume a 'hull-down' position, where the hull of the tank is protected by a hill or embankment, with just the turret and gun peeking out."
Allied tanks of NATO vis-Ã -vis a Soviet opponent and while fighting defensively having a distinctive advantage. Firing from a wedge-shaped ramp able to depress the gun lower than the horizontal. Able to present to the enemy the bare-minimum of target and showing that thickest part of the protective armor in the process.
* “Many parents of sons entering the IAC [Israeli Armored Corps] demanded that they be assigned to Centurion units, as it was believed that they would have a greater chance of survival in battle.”
American M-48 Patton tanks in contrast to Centurion having a very fatal flaw only found out about during combat. A hit on a certain particular part of the tank by an anti-tank guided-missile [ATGM] causing scalding hot hydraulic to course through the turret, killing the entire crew!
* "Israeli Centurions had their gasoline-powered Meteor engines replaced with the Patton’s diesel-powered engines, which used less fuel and were less prone to catching on fire in combat".
Gasoline-powered engines potentially EXPLOSIVE with catastrophic consequences for the entire crew. Diesel-powered engines will burn but with much less possibility of EXPLOSION!
* "The Israelis removed the turret from the Sho’t and turned the tank’s hull into the Nagmachon armored personnel carrier."
Sho't the Israeli term for the Centurion. Those Centurions when considered obsolete now simply discarded but converted into heavy armored personnel carriers [HAPC]. Indeed a whole family of such HAPC developed. Israeli ordnance personnel without peer in this regard.
As noted in the article even after SEVENTY years Centurion still going strong in one form or another. Centurion TOO another military BEST?
More to follow regarding these various topics.

Those pipes in the background fascines. Combat engineers dropping the entire mess of metal pipes into an anti-tank ditch and creating "ground" allowing a tank to traverse the obstacle.

Douglas Mac.
This is coolbert:
From Peter and his Internet web site we have this item. Douglas MacArthur his attitude and opinion pertinent to the Korean War and his position vis-a-vis the communist world not shared by the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
"A blast from a war long past"
DOUGLAS MACARTHUR HAVING BEEN RELIEVED OF COMMAND OF AMERICAN MILITARY FORCES IN THE FAR EAST, THAT DECISION OF PRESIDENT TRUMAN MOST CONTROVERSIAL AND REMAINS SO TO THIS DAY.
CONTROVERSY AS WAS SUBJECTED TO HIGH-LEVEL INVESTIGATION!
See here previous blog entry the pro and con regarding Douglas MacArthur.
"The Senate’s Armed Services and Foreign Relations Committees held joint hearings, at which MacArthur detailed his disagreement with the president and claimed the backing of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for his position."
"The joint chiefs contradicted him. The Senate hearings were closed to the public, but a transcript was released each day including all but the most sensitive comments."
Those hearing of the joint committees regarding the prosecution of the Korean War producing on a daily basis a transcript BUT THOSE MOST SENSITIVE ITEMS ONLY NOW MADE PUBLIC, AND ACCIDENTALLY SO AT THAT!
In the proverbial nutshell American military forces at that exact moment [1951] as deemed by the JCS NOT prepared in any sense of the word for a wider and expanded war, much less perhaps even a nuclear war of global proportions!!
Remarkable how one document from decades ago the content of which can so radically change your perception and goes a long way to answering questions debated unto this very day.

Here yet with one more military BEST!
Israeli military medic rated as # 1 in the world. As reported by Israel National News.
"Israeli army medics named world’s best in disaster relief"
"Israeli army medics named world’s best in disaster relief. World Health Organization [WHO] recognizes Israel as top emergency aid force in the world."
"The Medical Corps unit, which has been sent to provide aide in disaster zones around the world, is the first to have been recognized as Type 3 under recently developed WHO standards,
"After a yearlong vetting process, a team from the WHO visited Israel last week and made the final determination. The ranking recognizes the unit as a world leader in emergency medicine and assures it continued early access to disaster scenes."
DEVOTED READERS TO THE BLOG CAN SUGGEST ADDITIONAL MILITARY BEST?
Please feel free to do so! I also need to post to the blog a listing and index of all military BEST as have been determined over a period of years.

Atomics ROK.
This is coolbert:
Much having been made of the North Korean atomic capability, that combination of nuclear munitions and missiles seen as a hot topic and a menace to regional stability.
Think the South Korean [ROK] hardly laggards in comparison to the North, also on quick notice able to obtain and field their own nuclear option?
Hyunmoo!
"Through reverse-engineering of U.S.-supplied missiles, South Korea produced two versions of a two-stage, solid-fuel SSM based on the U.S. Nike Hercules surface-to-air missile . . . The Hyunmoo missile . . . features inertial guidance and control system, can reach the heart of its intended targets under any weather conditions without any commands from ground after fire."
"Surface-to-surface mode: Hercules also offered the ability to attack pre-located ground targets, after feeding in the coordinates in an operation that took about five minutes. For these missions the computer used the MTR [Missile Tracking Radar] to guide the missile to a point above the target, then commanded it to dive vertically while measuring any changes in trajectory as it fell."
. . . .
"Several authors have implied that the NHK-2 could be modified to carry a nuclear weapon. In 1979, Ground Defense International concluded that 'it may not be too difficult [for the ROK] to obtain a nuclear charge and thus produce a fine tactical nuclear weapon.'"
BACK IN 1979 SOME OBSERVERS COMMENTING THAT THE SOUTH KOREAN [ROK] COULD CONCEIVABLY HAVE THEIR OWN INDIGENOUS NUCLEAR CAPABILTY AT SOME POINT!
South Korea one of the great success stories of all mankind. From an almost totally agrarian and backward society to one of the ten largest economies in the world industrialized in a manner never thought conceivable prior to 1945.
ROK able at this very moment or on very short notice able to field their own atomic weapons already possessing the missile delivery system?

90 %.
This is coolbert:
With the subject of a missile malfunction in mind consider this amazing stuff.
From the Global Security.org Internet web site and the article "Hyunmoo - - Nike Hercules"
A very percentage of South Korean [ROK] surface-air-missile [SAM] the reliability in question to a remarkable degree!!
"The Air Force [South Korean] decided in 2001 to examine its Nike Hercules surface-to-air missiles, which had been deployed in the country since 1965. The scrutiny was conducted jointly with the state-run Agency for Defense Development and private LG Innotek. The measure came after ADD's report that more than 90 percent of Nike middle-range missiles were unable to fire warheads in recent tests. Only eight out of 100 Nike Hercules missiles had succeeded in launching their warheads during a reliability test three years earlier, while only 19 were able to shoot up first-stage propellant motors."
Major malfunctions of this percentage totally unacceptable. Those solid-fuel rocket engines evidently having aged with chemical deterioration of the solid-fuel engines and having a "shelf-life" far less than anticipated?
ACTUALLY HAVING THESE WEAPONS AS INVENTORIED FOR DECADES IT PERHAPS IS NOT SO SURPRISING THAT MANY OF THE MISSILES WOULD HAVE BEEN FOUND TO BE DUDS?

Malfunction.
This is coolbert:
NOT necessarily something the United States Air Force wants you to know about!
From The UFO Chronicles:
"Malfunctioning Nuclear Missile and Fear of Accidental Launch (1984)"
"Air Force officials parked an armored vehicle on top of a Minuteman 3 silo in 1984 to prevent what appeared to be the launch of a malfunctioning nuclear missile .... The guidance system on a Minuteman 3 missile loaded with 3 warheads malfunctioned Jan. 10, 1984."
NO DANGER of a real launch of an intercontinental-ballistic-missile [ICBM] carrying three atomic warheads.
BUT IT WAS THOUGHT SUCH A POSSIBILITY DID EXIST AND REMEDIAL MEASURES OF AN EXTREME NATURE HAD TO BE DONE!!
Only in a very vague manner was I aware of this incident. That process of preventing an accidental launch of an ICBM thought through with some thoroughness it seems.
AND THE SOVIET RESPONSE AT THE TIME TO THE MISSILE LAUNCH AND ATOMIC DETONATIONS ACCIDENTAL WOULD HAVE BEEN?

Punishment.

Let the punishment fit the crime is the old adage.
Here with an application of the old adage that indeed is apropos.
Thanks to Freeper.
"Montana Man Fined for Lying About Military Service"
"Morris [Ryan Patrick] told the court that he had done seven combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan but that was untrue. A Montana man who lied about serving in the military in order to have his burglary and theft case assigned to a Veterans Treatment Court has been found in contempt of court... District Judge Greg Pinski fined Ryan Patrick Morris $500 on Wednesday and ordered him to complete 441 hours of community service with a veterans’ service organization — one hour for each Montana veteran killed in the line of duty since the Korean War"
THE FAKE MILITARY WAR HERO/PREVARICATOR!
Unmasked and much to his discredit. NOW he will realize he is not getting off easy. His "burglary and theft" case not dismissed and the man now sentenced for what in the eyes of some is a much worse offense.
DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR MR. MORRIS! HANG YOUR HEAD IN SHAME SIR!

Meltdown.
This is coolbert:
Type 091 Chinese nuclear submarine [Han class] with classified portions removed now on display.
As reported by Strategy Page and as extracted from same:
"Submarines: A Chinese Nuclear First"
"[the] first Chinese Type 091 [Han] sub entered service in 1974 after being under construction for nearly a decade. This first Chinese SSN was retired in 2000 but three of the five 091 SSNs are still in service. The theme for the 2013 media promotion was that in 42 years of operation no Chinese nuclear sub has ever suffered a nuclear reactor accident"
I beg to differ! Han class not "suffering" a nuclear accident as that word "accident' normally understood but having been sunk by underwater collision, that amount of fissionable material released into the environment prodigious and unprecedented!! And remains so to this day?
From a previous blog entry:
"Pacific Fleet Victor III-class SSGN, K-324 from the Pacific Base of Rakushka collided with the Chinese Han-class SSN. June.1983.
"A Soviet survey in 1989 . . . commissioned by the Pacific Fleet, detected extremely high radiation levels measuring 1,000 roentgen per hour [877 rad/hour] within a five-mile radius of the broken hull of the Han SSN."
A NUCLEAR DISASTER EXCEEDING THAT [FAR GREATER??] OF CHERNOBYL AND YET UNKNOWN TO THE PUBLIC?

Airborne!
This is coolbert:
A nothing? Do not have concerns? There is precedent for this sort of event?
Thanks to Station 95 and the tip from Jeff.
"Air Force 1 and 2, plus FLOTUS in S.A.M. and an E-4 Command Aircraft all airborne as NATO raises Alert Status for 300,000 Troops in Europe citing 'Russia Concerns'"
EVERYONE ON HIGH ALERT? PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT, THEIR RESPECTIVE FAMILIES AND OTHER HIGH OFFICIALS OF THE U.S. GOVERNMENT ALL IN THE AIR AT ONCE?
"Something seems very peculiar. As of 3:46 PM eastern US time today, November 7, Air Force One, Air Force Two, a Special Air Mission (SAM) with FLOTUS and SLOTUS, PLUS an E-4 Military Global Command Aircraft are all airborne. This means the President is in one plane, the Vice President is in another. Their families are in a third plane and a military global command post (E-4) are all in the air at the same time."
E-4 that TACAMO aircraft. Take Charge And Move Out! Issues the GO codes to nuclear equipped units!!
S.A.M. I was not aware of. Special Air Mission. Carrying cabinet members and lesser officials as designated to run the government in case of world-wide disaster.
"The United States Air Force Special Air Mission is the safe, comfortable, and reliable air transportation for the President of the United States (POTUS), Vice President of the United States (VPOTUS), First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS), Presidential Cabinet, U.S. Congressional delegations (CODELs), and other high-ranking American and foreign dignitaries."
Think Proud Prophet and Able Archer from a much prior period? I fear the worst here. Let us all hope my fears are UNFOUNDED!
That TACAMO painted with anti-flash white. Anti-flash as from a nuclear weapon going off in close proximity. Get it?
P.S.: A simpler explanation for all this has been made by an acknowledged authority. This is all part of the last-minute political campaign leading up to the events of yesterday, the American Presidential election. Probably so.

Special operations needs to look into this. Perhaps they already have?

"Decades ago, pharmacologist M. E. West of the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, noted that local fisherman who smoked cannabis — or drank cannabis-laced rum — had 'an uncanny ability to see in the dark,' which enabled them to navigate their boats through coral reefs"
“'[but] I was then convinced that the man who had taken the rum extract of cannabis had far better night vision than I had, and that a subjective effect was not responsible.'”
NOT ONLY THOSE JAMAICAN FISHERMEN HAVING A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE.
". . . Moroccan fishermen and mountain dwellers experience a similar improvement after smoking hashish"
". . . in 2002, another research team traveled to the Rif mountains in Morocco to investigate further. They gave a synthetic cannabinoid to one volunteer, and hashish to three more, then used a newly developed piece of kit to measure the sensitivity of their night vision before and after. Confirming West’s earlier report, they found that cannabis improved night vision in all three of their test subjects."
RUM AND MARIJUANA NOT A COMBINATION THE MILITARY WOULD BE FOND OF. THAT ELEMENT WITHIN CANNABIS BENEFICIAL TO ENHANCED NIGHT VISION CAN BE EXTRACTED AND PUT TO GOOD USE? MEN WITH EYES OF A CAT/

Malbork.
This is coolbert:
1410! 1457! 1945!
Yet one more tourist destination with a military dimension and well worth visiting. If in the vicinity of Dansk Polank this is a must see!
Malbork Castle! Known to the Prussians as Marienburg!
LARGEST BRICK CASTLE IN THE WORLD HAVING BEEN RESTORED WITH AN AMAZING EXACTNESS AND DEVOTION TO DETAIL
Malbork/Marienburg during A PERIOD OF OVER FIVE-HUNDRED YEARS THE SCENE OF REPEATED SIEGE AND BATTLE!
1410: "In the summer of 1410, the castle was besieged following the Order's defeat by the armies of Władysław II Jagiełło and Vytautas the Great . . . at the Battle of Grunwald. Heinrich von Plauen successfully led the defense in the Siege of Marienburg (1410), during which the city outside was razed."
1457: "The Siege of Marienburg took place between September 28, 1457 - August 5, 1460, during the Thirteen Years' War. The Teutonic Knights tried to regain the fortress of Marienburg, which had been the capital of their state, but was captured by the Kingdom of Poland in June 1457. The Knights, commanded by Bernard Szumborski, failed to do so, and Marienburg remained in Polish hands, .
1945: "Near the end of World War II, the city was declared a festung [fortress] and most of the civilian population fled or were evacuated, with some 4,000 people opting to remain. In early 1945, Marienburg was the scene of fierce battles by the Nazis with the Red Army and was almost completely destroyed. The battle lasted until March 9, 1945".
From below take two virtual tours of Malbork Castle. Outstanding.

Ping!
This is coolbert:
Blame it on the Russia? Or blame it on the Americans? Or is it the space aliens?
Canada will fund out? Thanks to Freeper for the tip.
"Canada military probes mysterious Arctic pinging noise"
"The Canadian military has investigated a mysterious pinging sound coming from the sea floor in a remote region of the Arctic, officials have told the BBC. ... But the military says it is so far unable to explain the cause of the 'acoustic anomalies'. 'The [aircraft] crew did not detect any surface or sub-surface contacts,' the military said in a statement released to the BBC. ... A spokesman in the department of national defense in Ottawa said the cause of the pinging noise - which locals say can even be heard through the hulls of boats - remains a mystery...."
WHAT IS TO BLAME AND WHO IS TO BLAME, THAT IS THE QUESTION?

Bomber 075.
This is coolbert:
Lost has been found? After over sixty years a LOST atomic weapon has been discovered?
Thanks to the CBC, the article by George Baker and Andrew Kurjata and the tip from Al.
"UFO? Lost Cold War nuclear weapon? Canada's navy to investigate object found off B.C. coast Army records indicate diver may have found bomb lost by the U.S. Air Force in 1950"
"UFO? Lost Cold War nuclear weapon? Canada's navy to investigate object found off B.C. coast Army records indicate diver may have found bomb lost by the U.S. Air Force in 1950"
"The Royal Canadian Navy is sending a ship to determine if a diver has discovered "the lost nuke" — a Mark IV bomb that went missing after a U.S. bomber crashed off B.C.'s North Coast in the early days of the Cold War."
An American B-36 bomber aircraft [Bomber 075] in distress over international waters the crew having bailed out, the plane CONTINUING TO FLY UNMANNED FOR A TIME, WRECKAGE DISCOVERED IN BRITISH COLUMBIA INLAND BUT NO BOMB!!
That weapon evidently having fallen out of the warplane and landed in the ocean, NEVER FOUND!
At least until now!
A live weapon, an analog for training purposes or what? This all remains to be found out!
AND IF A LIVE WEAPON, COULD IT STILL POSSIBLY DETONATE EVEN AFTER BEING UNDERWATER FOR SUCH A PROLONGED PERIOD?
coolbert.

Remember.
This is coolbert:
We remember! From only several days ago.
That Chinese Phase One of the Korean war and the obliteration of the American 8th Cavalry remembered by a special Catholic ritual!
"Traditional Latin Mass offered at Ft. Hood"
"KILLEEN, Texas - - An All Souls Day Traditional Latin Mass was celebrated Wednesday on the Fort Hood Military base."
"The Mass was offered on the hood of a military humvee, the traditional way Mass is offered during time of battle."
"With some 60 people in attendance, the Mass was especially offered up for the fallen 1st Cavalry Division soldiers who died in the Battle of Unsanin during the Korean War on November 2, 1950. The Mass was held on the grounds of the 1st Cavalry Division Museum"
THERE BEING NO VIOLATION OF CHRISTIAN PRECEPTS, THE SOLDIER AT THE PROFESSION OF ARMS!
Those apostles of JESUS not only carrying swords but encouraged to do so:
Luke 22:36 "Then said he [JESUS] unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take [it], and likewise [his] scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."
"'But now': When Christ sent them out before, He had sovereignly arranged for their needs to be met. Henceforth they were to use normal means to provide for their own support and protection. The money bag, knapsack and sword were figurative expressions for such means (the sword being emblematic of protection, not aggression)."
Prepared for self-defense a virtue, not a fault.
