Fullback a valuable combat asset for the Russian air force. Existing in only limited numbers, an advanced warplane hard to replace. Must be protected.

Destruction of a Fullback would be a major plus + for the Ukrainian. Fullback able to carry and launch hypersonic missiles.

More debate as to what exactly the rubber tires mounted on the wings will provide in the way of protection. One theory is that tires will defeat NATO or Ukrainian surveillance radars of the space-based or aerial variety. But only the Russian knows for sure.
