Gerasimov.

This is coolbert:

You know things are bad when the military man at the very top is wounded?

The man wanted to see some smoke and saw some smoke!

1. "Putin's chief of staff 'wounded by shrapnel' during fighting in Ukraine".

From MSN.com  METRO the story by Kirsten Robertson.

"Vladimir Putin’s top military commander has reportedly been injured and evacuated from Ukraine."

"Valery Gerasimov had been deployed on April 27 to oversee the Russian advancement in the Donbas region and in eastern Ukraine."

"But the 66-year-old – who is leading Russia’s war campaign with defense minister Sergei Shoigu – appears to have already left the conflict zone."

"Gerasimov was wounded [shrapnel] during intense fighting in Izyum, in the Kharhiv region of Ukraine."

Additionally this from the DEBKAfile. Gerasimov relatively lucky compared to a compatriot also at the scene.

2. "Ukrainian attack misses Russian army chief, hits cyber commander".

 May 2, 2022.

DEBKAfile maintains Gerasimov not wounded. But attack did happen.

"Ukrainian forces struck Izium, the Russian base of operations in eastern Ukraine 120km SE of Kharkhiv, Saturday night, a short time after Russia’s chief of staff Gen. Valery Gerasimov, their apparent target, left the location. Among several senior officers killed in the artillery attack was Maj.-Gen Andrei Simonov, commander of cyber forces in North Russia."

A visit by the top man to the scene of the action can be considered to be a sign of trouble? Plans not coming to fruition, the boss wants to find out why?
