Keep in mind that in the Donbass there has been a persistent conflict that has been waged for seven years PRIOR to Feb. 2022. A conflict with a stalemated situation, neither side able to prevail. A conflict raging from a situation of low-intensity to medium-intensity warfare.

I hardly think too that the Ukraine Conflict will be resolved with negotiations. Both sides too adamant in their pronouncements and stated goals. Unless something dramatic is to happen, whatever that might be.
