Incorrect.

This is coolbert:

NOT so much deaths but rather casualties? The English tabloid "Daily Mail" with a misleading headline?

"Extremely high' number of the '200,000' Russian troop deaths in Ukraine war are linked to alcohol abuse"

From MAILONLINE ^ | 2 April 2023 | By FFION HAF. The tip from Freeper.

"Russia has suffered around 200,000 casualties since its invasion of Ukraine The Ministry of Defense claims a 'minority' are due to non-combat causes A high number of deaths are linked to Russian soldier's alcohol consumption The UK Ministry of Defense said an 'extremely high' number of Russian troop deaths as a part of the Ukraine war are linked to alcohol abuse. Russian military forces are injuring themselves as a result of poor handling of weapons and heavy drinking, according to the ministry's morning intelligence update."

This figure of 200,000 I believe incorrectly stated as deaths. Rather consider casualties. That being the combined total of killed-in-action, wounded-in-action, missing, and possibly including prisoner-of-war.

DURING THE EPISODE OF RUSSIAN MILITARY CAMPAIGNING IN AFGHANISTAN THE RED ARMY HAD ABOUT 5,000 KILLED IN ACTION [KIA], 15,000 WOUNDED IN ACTION [WIA] AND AROUND 300,000 NON-BATTLEFIELD CASUALTIES!!

I CAN WELL IMAGINE THE PREPONDERANCE OF THOSE NON-BATTLEFIELD AFGHAN CASUALTIES HEPATITIS FROM THE DRINKING OF CONTAMINATED WATER. BUT I AM NOT SURE.

coolbert.
