Russian general officers killed in combat Ukraine. Four of them in three weeks. An excessive number? One of them as commander of the Russian 29th Combined Arms Army. That is a high ranker.

My intuitive response is to a degree correct? So many flag officers dead is a bad sign, invasion from the Russian perspective not going well. [all officer general and admiral are normally referred to as flag officers]

Russian troops at the lower levels, officers and enlisted both their morale low, not performing their tasks to standard. Senior officers moving forward attempting to prod their men forward.

Russian military preferring the top-down command structure. Lower level subordinates not given authority or encouraged to think for themselves. The plan is just laid out for you to obey without question or freedom of initiative.
