How many times has this been a topic for the blog? A treasure of gold of immense value having been lost as a result of war!

Gold treasure as hunted for but seems in all cases [?] never to be found.

As it has been in the past so as it is now in Afghan!

My instantaneous thought [and I hope I am wrong] was the Taliban will DESTROY the artifacts!

The Bactrian Treasure from the Islamic perspective represents jahiliyyah. A concept of a period of ignorance prior to the time before the revelations of Mohammad. Think the statues of the Buddha in the Bamiyan valley and destruction of same.
