NOT ONLY LEARNING TO FLY BUT ALSO LEARNING THE COMBAT TECHNIQUES AND METHODS AS USED BY THE FRENCH AIR FORCE!
As to the transition process from flying a F-15 to a Mirage 2000D this comment from an acknowledged aviation expert:
"Familiarity with avionics will be the difference. And avionics get more and more specialized and complex for each plane and country. Yes, a lot has to be NATO spec or compliant in terms of cross communication, but that doesn’t mean the computer setup to run French missiles will be the same or even similar to the ones used by F-15s or even the French Rafales. That means a pilot won’t just be able to jump from one plane to another without some specialized training."
THOSE AMERICAN ATAC CIVILIAN PILOTS DURING THEIR OWN TRANSITION TO THE MIRAGE F1 WILL HAVE A SIMILAR LEARNING CURVE? BUT NOT THAT BAD I MIGHT WELL IMAGINE.
