This is coolbert:
From MARCO POLO through Harry at Sharkhunters we have this item:
"we learn that Russia's newest frigate, ADMIRAL ESSEN was just commissioned and while departing the dock in St. Petersburg - - she hit the dock! One of here propellers and prop shaft were damaged and she was forced to return to the yard for further repair, making this probably the shortest maiden voyage of any naval ship in any country. The Skipper was sacked, making this probably the shortest command in naval history. Repairs will take a long time and she will not be ready in time to join the Black Sea Fleet."
Devoted readers to the blog can read further from the Internet web site FleetMon of this incident: "Russian Navy brand new frigate ADMIRAL ESSEN damaged in accident".
