Those Russian intruder warplanes as based in Syria producing diplomatic protest and military tension hardly a new phenomenon.
For comparison sake consider also this item as seen at Al Nofi's CIC Issue #448:
"At one point early in the Spanish Civil War, a particularly convoluted section of the Franco-Spanish frontier caused Nationalist artillery rounds to pass through French air space during the shelling of Republican forces defending the line of the river Bidasoa, prompting a diplomatic protest from Paris."
That was a totally different world with a totally different attitude, wasn't it? An artillery round rather than a warplane but the offense was taken even if not given.
