This is coolbert:
Thanks to Sputnik News we have yet one more instance of damage to a submarine while at dock. It seems greater danger to a submarine while in port and not sailing, not under the water!!
"Fire on Russian Nuclear Sub Caused by Safety Violations During Welding"
"The nuclear attack submarine caught fire as a result of safety violations during the welding works"
"Russian Nuclear Sub on Fire to Be Partially Submerged - Shipbuilders"
"MOSCOW, April 7 (Sputnik) — A fire on board a nuclear attack submarine at the Zvezdochka shipyard in northwestern Russia was caused by safety violations during the welding works, a spokesman for the shipyard said on Tuesday."
This is an Oscar II class submarine.
"'Today, as a result of violations of the technical process during the welding works, a fire was ignited in the lower part of the hull of the Orel submarine, which is undergoing planned overhaul'"
PARTIAL SUBMERGENCE OF THE SUBMARINE WHILE AT DOCK THE ONLY 100 % GUARANTEE OF TOTALLY EXTINGUISHING THE FIRE!!
Also this type of news report during the Cold War era would have been totally suppressed by Soviet authorities, a non news-reportable item. NOT NOW!
