Yet more instance of ISIL combatants on the move.
That period of Ramadan over, ISIL feels confident they have consolidated their position, the self-proclaimed Caliphate can now be expanded. This time further incursions into Kurdish controlled areas.
"ISIL fighters seize Kurdish towns in Iraq’s north"
"Mosul governor Atheel al-Nujaifi, who fled to the largely autonomous Kurdish region when the Islamic State group and allied Sunni fighters seized Iraq’s second largest city in June, told The Associated Press on Sunday [3 August?] that the towns of Zumar and Sinjar fell after fierce clashes that erupted the day before."
The Kurds have appealed for American help to combat the ISIL threat. Will such be forthcoming?
