Magawa RIP.

 This is coolbert:

Magawa has terminated this existence. Rest in Peace [RIP] Magawa. Magawa the African giant pouched rat famed and honored for his work detecting land mines.

Thanks to the New York Times for the story.

"Magawa, Rat That Hunted Land Mines, Dies in Retirement"

"The African giant pouched rat [Magawa] sniffed out more than 100 mines and other pieces of unexploded ordnance in Cambodia over five years, winning hearts and an international award."

"The African giant pouched rat was part of the 'HeroRAT' initiative run by the Belgian nonprofit APOPO, which works across Southeast Asia and Africa, training rats to detect land mines and tuberculosis."

Further:

"Landmine detection rat Magawa received the PDSA Gold Medal for his life-saving work in Cambodia, making him the first rat to receive a PDSA award."

"Give me one-hundred good men like Magawa and I could conquer the world" says Napoleon.

Indeed!! They work for peanuts too!
