Chlorine.

This is coolbert:

ISIL now has a chemical capability? And is using same?

So it is alleged.

"ISIS KILLS 300 IRAQI SOLDIERS WITH CHLORINE GAS: SHIA MP"
"Three hundred Iraqi soldiers died in a chlorine gas attack carried out by the self-proclaimed Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) in the Iraqi city of Fallujah"

"It is unclear when the attacks took place. ISIS's use of chlorine gas in attacks isn't new. There are reports that the ISIS militants used chlorine-war gas before."

Good old-fashioned but NONETHELESS DEADLY chlorine gas choking agent. A legacy from almost one years ago first used in combat during the Great War.

Troops neither prepared nor equipped just throwing away their weapons and fleeing the battlefield in absolute disorder. Indeed, mass panic and disorder on the battlefield as a result of the use of chemical agents a greater threat to the combat commander than casualties from the poison itself.

Such if the case this is an escalation of the conflict and also demonstrative of additional ruthlessness on the part of ISIL. As if they need further demonstrations of ruthlessness.
