Metallic.

This is coolbert:

You are going to have to inspect and rip apart the jet engine of every F-35 Lightning fighter jet as currently in the inventory? USA and foreign powers currently flying the warplane?

1. "Pentagon Suspends F-35 Deliveries After Discovering Materials From China"

From Politico via Yahoo News ^ | 09/07/22 | Lee Hudson the tip from Freeper.

"The Pentagon has temporarily halted delivery of F-35 fighter jets to the military branches and international customers after Lockheed Martin discovered a metal component used in the jet’s engine had come from China"

INFERIOR metals used in a jet engine obviously can fail and this is the worry. Component as fabricated in China and not the raw material itself of concern.

2. "Pentagon Halts F-35 Stealth Jet Deliveries Over Use Of Chinese Alloy"

From www.zerohedge.com BY TYLER DURDEN SEP 07, 2022.

"The Pentagon suspended the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II deliveries over Chinese rare-earth metals used in magnets for pumps on the stealth fighter jet."

"Defense Department [DoD] spokesman Russell Goemaere told Bloomberg in an email that the F-35 program office 'temporarily paused the acceptance of new F-35 aircraft to ensure the F-35 program's compliance' with DoD rules sourcing 'specialty metals.'"

NOT really not clear if the rare earth alone in the unprocessed state is obtained in China or the magnets themselves are produced in China. If it self-evident that if the magnets of Chinese manufacture they are not being made to American DoD specifications you have a major problem.

My instantaneous reaction was that of the woman who for over three decades certified inferior steel as was used in American submarines. See prior blog entry:
